Michael began his career in New York City nearly two decades ago after receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design. He has since worked as an Interior Designer, Project Manager and Construction Manager on hundreds of residential, commercial and high-end retail projects throughout the US, Canada and Europe for such iconic companies as Bloomingdales, Izod, Mikasa, Polo Ralph Lauren and Starbucks. Prior to relocating to Florida in 2006, Michael held the role of Director of Architecture and Design at Polo Ralph Lauren where much of his focus was on the architectural elements of a space. He credits his seven years of working with Ralph Lauren to giving him an acute understanding of architectural detailing and awareness of how scale, proportion and balance influence his designs. After receiving his NCIDQ certification and subsequently becoming a licensed Interior Designer in the State of Florida, Michael established his own design firm, Studio Powers, LLC and strives to provide clients with every resource they may need to guide their project from the initial stages through the finished product. Services include space planning, material selections, project scheduling, millwork and architectural detailing, AutoCAD drafting and on-site administration. Michael works closely with his clients to understand their needs and their vision so that he is able to develop designs that are in balance with the way that they live their lives. His designs have been described as “classically inspired and timeless with a meticulous focus on the details.”
